Fees & Insurance

Straightforward information about therapy fees, insurance reimbursement, and what to expect.

I want the practical side of starting therapy to feel as simple as possible. Below you'll find information about session fees, insurance, reduced-fee options, cancellations, and Telehealth.

Session Fees

Individual Therapy — $125 per session
Couples Therapy — $150 per session
Family Therapy — $150 per session

Payment is due at the time of service. Cash, check, and major credit cards are accepted.

Fees may be adjusted periodically. Clients will be notified in advance of any fee changes.

Reduced-Fee Options

I offer a limited number of reduced-fee appointments based on availability and individual circumstances. If cost is keeping you from reaching out, please feel free to ask. I'm happy to discuss whether a reduced-fee option may be available.

In-Person & Virtual Sessions

I offer both in-person therapy in Overland Park and secure telehealth appointments for clients located in Kansas.

Virtual sessions are provided through SimplePractice, a secure, HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform.

Cancellation Policy

I understand that schedules change. If you need to cancel or reschedule an appointment, please provide at least 48 hours' notice.

Appointments canceled with less than 48 hours' notice are subject to a $75 cancellation fee.

Insurance & Out-of-Network Benefits

I am a private-pay therapist and am not in-network with insurance companies.

However, some insurance plans include out-of-network mental health benefits, which may reimburse you for a portion of the cost of therapy.

Your reimbursement will depend on your individual insurance plan, deductible, and out-of-network benefits.

Check Your Out-of-Network Benefits

Coverage and reimbursement are determined by your insurance company and cannot be guaranteed.

I recommend contacting your insurance company directly. Helpful questions to ask include:

  • Do I have out-of-network benefits for outpatient mental health services?

  • Do I have an out-of-network deductible, and how much of it have I met?

  • What percentage of an out-of-network psychotherapy session is reimbursed?

  • What is the plan's allowed amount for psychotherapy?

  • Is there a limit on the number of sessions covered each year?

Still not sure? Schedule your complimentary phone consultation and we can discuss any questions you may have.

Good Faith Estimate

Under the federal No Surprises Act, clients who do not have insurance or who choose not to use insurance have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate of the expected cost of their care.

You may request a Good Faith Estimate before scheduling services or at any time during treatment. If your actual charges are substantially higher than your estimate, you may have additional rights under federal law.

Contact me if you'd like to request a Good Faith Estimate.
